I’m not sure if you’ve heard the good news, but Dallas Market Center is once again an official sponsor of the Miss Rodeo America organization (MRA). Yeehaw! I had the pleasure of attending the pageant last December, where I live tweeted from all of the events, including the National Finals Rodeo (NFR).
As part of our partnership with MRA, Robbin Wells, executive vice president of leasing at DMC, and little ol’ me, the PR/social media gal at DMC, agreed to do an hour-long presentation during the annual Miss Rodeo America board meeting in Las Vegas this past weekend.
Robbin and I braved the oncoming inclement weather and traveled out to the bright lights of Vegas. The meeting was held at the MGM Grand hotel, which also happens to be the location of the national MRA pageant and the NFR experience each December. We had a lovely lunch and got to chat with some of the organizations finest including Miss Rodeo America 2012 herself, Mackenzie Carr (what a cutie).
Then it was time for our presentation. My portion dealt mainly with social media and how MRA can broaden the reach of the pageant. Robbin then spoke about how western style influences the fashion industry today and we threw around some ideas for how the pageant could utilize social media.
The audience had the chance to brainstorm and share their own ideas about how MRA can use social media and boy howdy did they have some fabulous ones!
It was a WONDERFUL experience and Robbin and I were able to beat the storms back to Dallas. Thanks for having us Miss Rodeo America!
