Rawlins Gilliland started his career in the retail industry at world renowned retailer Neiman Marcus. At Neiman’s, Rawlins was named top salesperson, helped to create and direct their in-store personal shopping program, and eventually earned the title of National Director of Sales and Product.
Rawlins has been featured in national media as a commentator on National Public Radio. He also currently works as a columnist for The Dallas Morning News, Pegusus.com online news, and is a feature writer for various magazines around town. Rawlins is a Master Poet-in-Residence grant recipient for the National Endowment for the Arts and was awarded the honor of sitting on the judging panel for the 20th Annual ARTS Awards, held in January 2009 at the Dallas Market Center.
Since 1999, Rawlins Gilliland has been a full service consultant to the wholesale and retail industries in the Apparel, Gift, and Home venues. He specializes in all related market buying and sourcing geared to private store and small business venues. Under his consulting umbrella, Rawlins provides an emphasis on sales and service at store level and ongoing education for those whose staff do not have an in-house education system in place.
