2020 Showroom of the Year Winners Announced

—The Lighting industry watched online as three Showroom of the Year awards and three specialty categories honored outstanding lighting retailers on Facebook Live—

DALLAS – June 25, 2020 – Dallas Market Center, home of the largest residential lighting marketplace in North America, announced the winners of the 11th annual Showroom of the Year Awards on June 24 in a Facebook Live event on the Lightovation Facebook page. The ceremony, typically held as part of the summer Lightovation show in Dallas, went virtual this year after the coronavirus crisis prompted the cancellation of the in-person lighting event.

The Showroom of the Year Awards, a collaborative program organized by Furniture, Lighting & Decor magazine and Lightovation host Dallas Market Center, recognizes three Showroom of the Year winners in different dollar-volume categories each year, along with three specialty awards.

“In an environment that is proving challenging for any retailer, the winners of the Showroom of the Year Awards this year have proven that through forward-thinking practices, determination and ingenuity, retail, even during a pandemic, is viable,” says Diane Falvey, Editor-in-Chief, Furniture, Lighting & Decor. “We’d like to congratulate all of this year’s winners and acknowledge all of our finalists for a job well done!”

From entries and nominations received between December 2019 and February 2020, there were five finalists in each of three dollar-volume categories: annual Revenue Under $2 Million, Revenue Under $5 Million, and Revenue $5 Million and Over. All 15 Showroom of the Year finalists were also eligible for three specialty awards: Outstanding Merchandising Display, Exceptional Community Involvement and Social Media Star.

“It was my privilege to be able to announce the winners of the 2020 Showroom of the Year Awards live from Dallas, even if we had to gather virtually this year to celebrate them as an industry,” said Cindy Morris, president and CEO of Dallas Market Center. “All of the finalists truly represent the very best examples of retailing excellence.”

The 11th Annual Showroom of the Year winners are:

Revenue Under $2 Million: Village Home Stores; Geneseo, IL
