Berlin Custom Leather, Lone Star Ropes to Open Showrooms at Dallas Market Center

–Year-round space for two companies helps expand tack destination inside largest western marketplace–

DALLAS – September 26, 2019 – Dallas Market Center, the leading western lifestyle marketplace and home to WESA’s International Western/English Apparel & Equipment Markets beginning in 2021, announces that two important western companies will open new showrooms inside its growing western marketplace. Berlin Custom Leather and Lone Star Ropes will open permanent showrooms on the 14th floor of the World Trade Center, adding to the already significant tack resources available in Dallas.

“The momentum in Dallas continues to grow as we create the world’s largest western marketplace,” said Cindy Morris, president and CEO of Dallas Market Center. “Berlin Custom Leather and Lone Star Ropes are each a welcome addition to our solid collection of the top tack companies who’ve committed to long-term agreements in permanent showrooms.”

The two companies join a neighborhood of top tack companies in North America including Partrade, Equibrand, Professional’s Choice, and Cactus Ropes/Cactus Gear who have recently committed to new showrooms at Dallas Market Center. These additions further solidify Dallas Market Center’s position as the dominant western marketplace for the widest array of products including major brands in western apparel and accessories, boots and footwear, and tack and equipment.

Based in Berlin, Ohio, Berlin Custom Leather is a family-run business in the heart of one of the largest Amish communities in the US. Since 1974, they’ve been making products that working cowboys, equestrians and horse trainers use, every single day, and will showcase their collection of horse collars, bridles and straps in Dallas.

Co-owner, Henry Hershberger said, “We look forward to opening our first showroom in Dallas and reaching loyal and new buyers. Dallas Market Center and Berlin Custom Leather have decades of experience serving customers with world-class products. We’re stronger together, and this is a good opportunity to join a single marketplace uniting the leading tack companies along with hundreds of other western resources.”

Started by brothers Kevin and Richie Pate in 2007, Lone Star Ropes manufactures and sells handmade ropes and roping accessories that service both the working cowboy and rodeo pro. Using the latest technology to account for variations in temperature, humidity and season, each rope is hand spun and personally certified by partner, and veteran rope maker, Guy Alford.

Said Michael Dvorak, COO of Lone Star Ropes, “Opening a permanent showroom in Dallas is an amazing opportunity to expand our business and to connect with new buyers from across the country. We look forward to helping create a tack destination at Dallas Market Center, a company that shares our mission of delivering quality products and putting the customer first. The growing Western community in Dallas is a great thing for the entire industry and we’re excited to be there.”

Dallas Market Center features hundreds of western lifestyle brands serving retail buyers from across the U.S. and internationally. In fact, no other marketplace in the world attracts more buyers seeking western and western-inspired products, including retailers broadening their merchandise mix.

WESA’s decision to move the International Western/English Apparel & Equipment Markets to Dallas beginning in 2021 was based upon a number of factors including Dallas’ superior facilities, which includes thousands of free parking spaces, hotel shuttle buses, efficient dock services, well-maintained vertical transportation, boosted cell phone coverage, enhanced WiFi, and on-site restaurants and catering. Throughout Dallas Market Center’s six decades of service to buyers and sellers the company has worked hard to ensure that customers receive the support services they need to make their business experience in Dallas successful.
