Dallas Bridal Market Showed Strong Attendance, Inspiration

DALLAS – September 21, 2011 – Dallas Market Center, the world’s most complete wholesale marketplace and home of the fastest growing bridal show in the country, today announced that the Dallas Bridal Market held September 11-13 featured exciting events, a visually stunning temporary area, and insightful seminars for bridal buyers. The Market showed an overall increase in attendance with buyers traveling to Dallas from 37 states and 11 countries.

The Market was held in conjunction with the Dallas Total Home & Gift Market (September 10-12). Attendees had access to products in a range of categories including bridal, special occasion and quinceañera, as well as tabletop, stationery and gift, gourmet product and much more.

“The Bridal Market showed strong attendance from our region and beyond, as well as twice as many international buyers,” said Cindy Morris, COO, Dallas Market Center. “Exhibitors offered exceptional new lines and many provided an interactive buying experience with fashion shows.”

Attendees were treated to several special events throughout the three-day Market. On the evening of Sunday, September 11 the “Seaside Soiree” included a lively bridal and special occasion fashion show, as well as delicious cocktails and hors d’oeuvres. Bridal buyers had the chance to go out on the town during “Party at the Park,” an exclusive event sponsored by the Bridal & Formal Association of Dallas (BFAD). Party guests were shuttled to and from Northpark Center, Dallas’ premier designer shopping and fine dining venue, and each received $25 in Northpark Gold to spend as they pleased.

One of the most entertaining events held during Bridal Market was “A Pearl Party” on Monday, September 12, sponsored by Dallas Market Center and House of India (World Trade Center #7953). After enjoying dinner and cocktails, each attendee learned to affix stones and crystals, make loops for dangle pearl earrings, and pearl knotting from Nick Regine and Kim Paquette of SWAROVSKI. Guests also received a SWAROVSKI Elements™ gift bag and a pearl jewelry set that they handmade on their own.

A photo contest was held leading up to Market in which bridal buyers could submit their wedding photo for the chance to win a second honeymoon experience in Dallas. The prize package includes a two-night stay for two in a Superior Room including tax & valet service at the Warwick Melrose Hotel and more. The winners were Cora and William Jones of Jean’s Bridal in Wilmot, S.D.

Several educational seminars were held during Market led by bridal industry experts including Laura Cave, director of partner promotions for The Knot; Jim Butler, owner of Arizona Bridal Warehouse; Kimberly Miller, owner of The Wedding Belle; and others.
