Dallas Market Center Announces Updated Health & Safety Policies

—Masks and temperature checks required; social distancing and no gatherings for summer trade events; Dallas County shows preliminary decline in case counts—

DALLAS – July 23, 2020 – Dallas Market Center, the leading lifestyle marketplace for retailers and interior designers, announces that updated health and safety guidelines recently went into effect and will remain in place for all August trade events. This announcement comes as Dallas County begins to report a decline in daily case counts for COVID-19. The number of positive cases has dropped by 50% this week according to the Dallas County Health and Human Services. The latest data also show that Dallas Market Center is located in the least vulnerable ZIP Code in Dallas County.

The complete health and safety guidelines are available via a link on the front page of the Dallas Market Center website. Those measures include existing protocols for social distancing as well as recent additions such as a mask requirement and mandatory temperature check for each person entering the marketplace including all buyers and exhibitors. In addition, the guidelines cover facility operations, registration, food and beverage service, shuttles, employee screening, and other important topics.

“As we prepare to welcome buyers into our marketplace in August to conduct business in permanent showrooms and the Temps, it’s important to remain vigilant and exceed the recommendations and guidelines from health officials in order to create a healthy environment for business," said Cindy Morris, president and CEO. "Our policies, together with design features including large parking lots, wide entries and hallways, and multiple escalators, create the safest possible environment among all market centers and trade events. We are encouraged by the preliminary numbers this week regarding a sharp reduction in COVID-19 cases in Dallas County following the mask order, and while this is a brief snapshot in time it’s a trend we hope continues.”

The health and safety guidelines will continue to be updated as conditions change and refined prior to market events. During the June Apparel & Accessories Market and Gift & Home Open House, Dallas Market Center conducted more than 11,000 temperature scans and distributed hundreds of complimentary masks.

Dallas Market Center has created a series of trade events this summer with strict attention to health and safety. Those events include August 1st Monday & Tuesday (August 3-4), Dallas Men’s Show (August 14-17), Dallas Total Home & Gift Market (19-25; Temps August 19-22), Dallas Lighting Expo (August 19-21), Dallas Apparel & Accessories Market (August 25-28), KidsWorld (August 25-28), and Dallas Western and English Market (August 25-28). Masks and temperature checks are required for entry.
