Dallas Men’s Show to Be Held August 14-17

—Temps to take place August 15-17; new dates allow for retail to fully reopen; travel confidence to return; new products to arrive—

DALLAS – May 26, 2020 – Dallas Market Center, the only complete lifestyle marketplace in North America and a hub of commerce for leading menswear retailers and brands, has announced that the summer edition of The Men’s Show will move to new dates, August 14-17.

The August trade event, which includes permanent showrooms as well as temporary exhibits, will showcase exhibitors representing top brands as well as retail buyers from leading independent menswear stores reviewing and placing orders for best-sellers and new products. Permanent showrooms will be open August 14-17 while the temporary exhibits will take place August 15-17. Details regarding the rigorous health and safety measures in place are available on the company’s website.

“After careful consideration we are shifting to new dates to best serve our menswear community,” said Cindy Morris, president and CEO of Dallas Market Center. “Our primary concern is the well-being of our customers, and throughout this pandemic we have been in close contact with state and local officials as well as our customer community to seek their perspective on business conditions, health and safety measures, and travel concerns. The consensus, made even clearer after states announced their plans to get back to business, is that we should begin ramping up our marketplace in sync with the reopening of retail.”

Added Eva Walsh, EVP of Retail Development: “We will be reaching out to our loyal menswear brands and buyers as well as others impacted by so many shows cancelling or delaying their events until later in the year. We understand that for many men’s retailers their first steps are reopening their doors, restarting their sales, and then making a careful decision about visiting the marketplace. But Dallas has clear advantages that balance good business with good health.”

In addition to new health and safety measures there are also natural design features of the marketplace that promote minimal contact and social distancing: open parking, large entryways, quick registration in multiple areas, multiple sets of escalators in each building, wide hallways, and showrooms with controlled access to allow for the appropriate distance between customers. The on-site services available at the summer events will be announced soon. All traditional market elements that involve close contact and/or gatherings will be adjusted or removed completely.

Other summer trade events at Dallas Market Center include Total Home & Gift Market, August 19-25; Dallas Western Market, August 25-28; and Dallas Apparel & Accessories Market, August 25-28.
