Designer Tracy Reese — Special Guest at October Market
DALLAS – October 6, 2011 – Dallas Market Center, the world’s most complete wholesale marketplace, today announced that world-renowned, American-designer Tracy Reese will be its guest designer at the Dallas Apparel & Accessories Market being held October 27-30 and present pieces from her Spring/Summer 2012 collection during a Market runway event. The Tracy Reese line is available in the Ritz Group, World Trade Center #15325.
“We are honored to have Tracy Reese as our guest designer during October Market,” said Cindy Morris, COO, Dallas Market Center. “Her contemporary designs transcend generations, so it is no surprise that she has seen immense success in the more than 10 years since the launch of her first line. We look forward to seeing the innovative collection she created for the upcoming season.”
A 1984 graduate of Parsons School for Design, Reese began her career at Arlequin, a small contemporary design firm, before working her way up to design director of the Women’s Portfolio at Perry Ellis. In 1998, the first Tracy Reese collection of sophisticated, feminine pieces made its debut onto the fashion scene, showcasing intelligent nostalgia, charm and luxury; a distinctive look for which the designer has since become known. Later that same year, Reese launched her second line, plenty by Tracy Reese, featuring a similiar basic design aesthetic with a bohemian touch.
The Tracy Reese brand has expanded over the years to include many products ranging from shoes to home accessories and candles. In 2007, Reese was inducted as a Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) board member.
During October Market, Reese will be the guest of honor during “Dallas in Wonderland” at 6 p.m. on Thursday, October 27 in The Grand Pavilion on the Trade Mart 1st floor. This extraordinary night of arts and entertainment will feature a full fashion show featuring the designer’s Spring/Summer 2012 collection, as well as trends from other Dallas Market Center showrooms. The all-market event will offer cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and whimsical Wonderland-themed décor.
The Ritz Group will also host Reese during her visit. She will meet and greet buyers in the showroom on Thursday, October 27 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and again from 4 p.m. until the start of “Dallas in Wonderland” at 6 p.m.
