—Samsung to Anchor Smarter Living by Design—

DALLAS – April 30, 2019 – Dallas Market Center, home of the largest residential lighting marketplace and largest open-daily design marketplace, announces the grand opening of the first smart home showroom in North America, Smarter Living by Design. The permanent showcase will feature leading technology for residential, commercial and hospitality projects from thirteen innovative companies from around the world including Samsung. The open-daily showroom will debut in June 2019 in time for the June Total Home & Gift Market (June 19-25) and Lightovation—Dallas International Lighting Show (June 19-22).

Smarter Living by Design will include a selection of best-in-class brands spanning home technology categories from premier lighting, sound and appliances to artificial intelligence. The showcase will be the first to unite advanced technology from Europe, Asia, and the U.S. in order to demonstrate how technology can seamlessly and stylishly integrate into the modern home.

Participating brands include Samsung (South Korea), Basalte (Belgium), BRYTE (USA), California Audio Technology (USA), CinemaTech (USA), Crestron (USA), Display Technologies (UK), Dolby Laboratories (USA), Future Automation (UK), Josh.ai (USA), LumaStream (USA), Koa Technology Group for CoeLux (Italy), and Kaleidescape (USA).

Additional services to be offered exclusively in Smarter Living by Design include education, training, and installation to enhance the products on display and support the retail and design communities.

The showcase will be coordinated by HomeTronics, a Dallas-based custom electronics integrator and will feature a series of five custom-built lifestyle vignettes: Family Room, Master Suite, Outdoor Cooking, Outdoor Living, and an Interactive Technology Showcase. Each living space will be updated regularly and serve as a practical demonstration space and design laboratory.

In addition, Smarter Living by Design will host frequent special events and seminars to educate and inspire designers and retailers about the basics of smart home technology, to share project ideas, and to hold collaborative sessions on technology subjects that can turn the design community into smart home thought leaders.

Finally, Dallas Market Center and vendor personnel will be present to connect customers with installation resources in their local areas for the products featured. The full-spectrum showcase has been masterfully designed to integrate products, training, education and related services to support the design and retail community in an unprecedented manner.

“This unparalleled showroom is a groundbreaking effort to meet the progressive needs of interior designers and retailers, both of which are increasingly interested in providing smart home resources for their customers,” said Cindy Morris, president and CEO of Dallas Market Center. “Technology is a logical progression from our global leadership in design and lighting, and we welcome the trade to experience the only market center showcase of enhanced living through technology.”

“We have carefully selected the best brands from around the world for this first-of-its-kind showcase that will attract buyers from across North America. Dallas Market Center is an exceptional venue for connecting home technology with the design industry,” said Greg Margolis, president of HomeTronics. “I look forward to the ideas and creativity this space will spark in designers.”

Smarter Living by Design will be open daily inside Light+ Design on Ten in the World Trade Center, space 10085-11. The showroom is fully staffed and able to facilitate ordering of products and installation services as needed. HomeTronics has design and integration experience with all technology partners featured.
