Ground-breaking Dallas Market Signals                      Success in 2012

– Strong attendance, more new products, energy throughout campus –

DALLAS – January 26, 2012 – Dallas Market Center today announced that its recent Dallas Total Home & Gift Market, held January 18-24, was ground-breaking with strong buyer attendance, larger orders being placed, more new exhibitors, and renewed retail confidence during the seven-day show that included the Dallas International Lighting Market, FINDS Dallas Temp Show, and Dallas Holiday & Home Expo.

“Commerce roared ahead in Dallas as a record number of new and expanded exhibitors were matched by gains in attendance across key buying segments. Coming off strong holiday sales, retailers were ready to buy and attended from all 50 states and 53 countries. In fact, this part of the U.S. has experienced more than 18 months of retail sales growth, which has stimulated all facets of the retail economy. We anticipate a banner 2012 as exhibitors reinvest in the marketplace and as retailers keep pace with rising consumer demand,” said Bill Winsor, president and CEO, Dallas Market Center.

Dozens of new and expanded showrooms debuted at Market with fresh products throughout the 5-million-square-foot campus. The FINDS Dallas Temp Show soared with more new exhibitors in every category. The Market Center’s commitment to the Vintage category continued with hundreds of products throughout Vintage Home FINDS, Handmade & Vintage FINDS, and The French Market section of Cash & Carry. During the FINDS show, lucky buyers won more than 75 prizes as part of the “On the Road to FINDS” giveaway.

Retailers brought in more buyers per store and twice as many booked their June travel to Market, signaling greater business confidence. While at the show, they participated in more than 70 special events, seminars, hospitalities and found inspiration in the whimsical, vintage-inspired displays throughout campus.

“The show was the best we’ve had in our 20 years. It was the perfect storm of business with our 20th anniversary and the opening of the new Willow Group corporate showroom. Our increases were across the board and both showrooms worked great. Steady traffic and the vibe throughout the floors were indicators that the economy has begun a definite turn around.” – Patrick Ongena, owner of Patrick & Company
