June 2017 Lightovation Provides Summer Hub for Lighting
– All facets of the residential lighting industry to converge at Dallas Market Center, June 21-24 –
DALLAS – June 8, 2017 – The June 21-24, 2017, edition of Lightovation – Dallas International Lighting Show promises plenty of new products, programming and people as businesses focused on the residential lighting industry come together at the largest residential lighting event in North America. This latest edition will emphasize new products available in June, emerging opportunities and celebrate successes with a full day of education about connected lighting and smart home, a record number of first-time attendees participating in the Light Stars program, and awards honoring leading retailers and exhibitors.
Market Choice Awards
Sponsored by enLIGHTenment and Lighting & Decor magazines, this program highlights new product introductions making their debut at June market and allows attendees to vote on their favorites at
www.dallasmarketcenter.com/mca and through the free Lightovation app. Six categories are featured—Bath, Ceiling Fans, Chandeliers & Pendants, Outdoor, Portable Lamps and a new category for 2017: Technology, which recognizes architectural lighting, controls, systems and other non-decorative innovations. Attendees can vote through noon on Thursday, June 22, after which one winner will be announced in each category. Dozens of exhibitors are participating and nearly 100 products are showcased on the voting link and in a new, handy printed guide that can be picked up at the show. Voting kiosks will be located near the north escalators on Trade Mart 3 and 4.
Lightovation Speaker Series: Connected/Smart Home
Presented in partnership with the American Lighting Association (ALA), Dallas Market Center will host three accredited sessions and one hospitality event focused on enabling lighting showrooms to capitalize on connected lighting and the smart home. Taking place on Thursday, June 22, each complimentary seminar earns one Certified Lighting Consultant (CLC®) credit, and all of these events will take place in the Light + Technology space, TM 4804.

Light Stars
The Light Stars program enables top retail salespeople from across North America to participate in the June edition of Lightovation.
Aside from rewarding hard-working and talented showroom employees, the Light Stars program enhances the perspective of the next generation of lighting retailing by exposing them to educational opportunities, display inspiration and a higher level of engagement with product introductions. Now in its third year, the 2017 Light Stars program is the largest to date, with 78 participants. Get to know these rising stars in an interactive display in the Light + Technology lounge in TM 4804. Lightovation App and Buyer’s Guide
The free
Lightovation app is downloadable from the App Store and Google Play to help attendees locate and organize exhibitors, view events and plan schedules, while engaging with other participants in real time. It also provides a convenient vehicle for voting in the Market Choice Awards.
