Light + Design Lighting Showroom to Debut in World Trade Center

--Open-daily, luxury lighting destination serving the interior design community--

DALLAS – March 3, 2016 – Dallas Market Center, the largest residential lighting marketplace in North America, has announced a groundbreaking lighting showroom concept to serve the interior design community: Light + Design. This 25,000 s.f. destination, opening in August 2016, will be the only space of its kind in the U.S.: an open-daily showroom with a curated collection of luxury lighting manufacturers in custom spaces managed by a market center.
More than 70% of available space in Light + Design, located on the 10th floor of the World Trade Center, has already been reserved by top manufacturers including Hinkley Lighting, John Richard, Kuzco, Holtkoetter, and others.

“As our interior design traffic continues to increase, and as lighting companies seek new ways to reach eager customers, we are pleased to offer Light + Design,” said Cindy Morris, president and CEO of Dallas Market Center. “Its mission will be to offer even more lighting resources for interior designers and to support existing sales channels via manufacturers and their sales representatives. Only in Dallas can lighting companies reach a new set of customers year-round in addition to serving lighting retailers at twice annual trade events.”

Light + Design will anchor a floor already serving as the largest U.S. collection of open-daily showrooms featuring decorative lighting resources including Currey & Co, Visual Comfort, Phillips Collection, Ralph Lauren, Aidan Gray, and many others.

“We are among the original lighting tenants of Dallas Market Center and are pleased to have a new venue to access this important target market on a daily basis,” said Rick Wiedemer, president of Hinkley Lighting. “We are fully committed to this unique opportunity.”

“Design is at the heart of our business, and we look forward to participating in this forward-thinking showcase of high-end lighting solutions aimed at the interior design community,” said Alan Galbraith, president of John-Richard.

Dallas Market Center is the most successful open-daily design center in North America. In fact, more interior designers visit Dallas Market Center, and more showrooms are open daily in Dallas, than any other market center or design center. These showrooms currently serve thousands of visitors each month from a discerning design community actively seeking resources for residential and commercial projects across Mid-America and Latin America.

Inside Light + Design, a professionally trained and qualified lighting sales manager will manage the space and will assist with product education, sales orders and sales leads via existing channels to sales representatives and manufacturers. The space includes the only private conference rooms and workrooms in Dallas Market Center for the design community as well as a 100 seat seminar room to be used for a full schedule of training sessions, CEU’s for lighting specialists and specifiers, as well as workshops, networking events and product reviews throughout the year.

“Dallas Market Center is already an important destination for interior designers across the state of Texas and the surrounding areas,” said Marissa Marmolejos, president of the Texas Chapter of ASID (American Society of Interior Designers). “I am looking forward to the grand opening of Light + Design. It will be an exciting addition for design professionals to source high-quality lighting throughout the year.”
