October Market: World Famous Designers, New Lines and Exciting Special Events

DALLAS – October 7, 2011 – Dallas Market Center, the world’s most complete wholesale marketplace, today announced that the Dallas Apparel & Accessories Market being held October 27-30 will feature appearances by designers Tracy Reese and Raffaella Curiel, an Italian Fashion Expo, dozens of new lines and a wide range of special events.

“There are so many amazing things happening during our October Apparel & Accessories Market,” said Cindy Morris, COO, Dallas Market Center. “The combination of all that the Italian Fashion Expo will offer to buyers, our special guests, events and seminars, and more new lines across our campus will create an unprecedented experience. World-renowned American-designer Tracy Reese will be the guest designer during Market. In 1998, the first Tracy Reese collection of sophisticated, feminine pieces made its debut onto the fashion scene, showcasing intelligent nostalgia, charm and luxury; a distinctive look for which the designer has since become known. The Tracy Reese brand has expanded over the years to include many products ranging from shoes to home accessories and candles, plus her line plenty by Tracy Reese. Reese will be the guest of honor during “Dallas in Wonderland” at 6 p.m. on Thursday, October 27 in The Grand Pavilion, Trade Mart 1st floor. This extraordinary night of arts and entertainment will feature a full fashion show featuring the designer’s Spring/Summer 2012 collection, as well as trends from other Dallas Market Center showrooms. The all-market event will offer cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and whimsical Wonderland-themed décor.

In cooperation with the Italian American Chamber of Commerce (IACC), Dallas Market Center will host the Italian Fashion Expo on the WTC 6th floor. The Expo will include more than 40 designers presenting products in categories ranging from jewelry and accessories to apparel for men, women and children. The entire four‐day event will be organized "Italian style," with multiple runway shows, gourmet food and wine samples, and cocktail receptions. World famous Italian-designer Raffaella Curiel will show her couture designs in a booth during the entirety of the Italian Fashion Expo and present a fashion show on Thursday, October 27 at 3 p.m. featuring her line as well as Italian fashion through the years.

Dozens of new lines will be available throughout the permanent and temporary showrooms during October Market. In particular, STRUT — Dallas Shoes, located in the temporary area of the WTC 13th floor, will feature many exciting new lines including: Aerosoles, bebe, Boutique 9, Joe’s Jeans Footwear, Matiko Shoes, Penny Loves Kenny, Safari Girl Designs and more.
