Docks are supervised by DMC Dock personnel and
Protective Services.Red Caps are
available to help transport samples to/from showrooms and customer vehicles for
a fee. DMC dock personnel cannot perform
work inside showrooms. For questions

When a delivery arrives at DMC facility marked with
INSIDE DELIVERY, Dock Services reviews paperwork and bill of ladings, and helps
facilitate delivery for the tenant. DMC Dock Services personnel work with
delivery drivers to ensure building access, provide pallet jacks and/or
forklifts, and ensure carrier delivers products to the proper showroom. This
service is provided free of charge for all tenants.
Note: INSIDE DELIVERY dictates the shipping carrier
will actually deliver products and merchandise to the showroom (not inside the
showroom, unless the tenant is present and authorizes access to the showroom).
This is an arrangement made by the shipper and/or tenant with the shipping
provider. DMC is not responsible for delivery, accuracy or quality of delivery
service with INSIDE DELIVERY.DMC does
provide necessary equipment to help facilitate delivery by the shipping
provider at no charge.
When a delivery arrives at DMC NOT MARKED INSIDE
DELIVERY, Dock Services reviews all paperwork, bill of ladings and calls the
showroom to ask if the tenant wants a Red Cap to deliver (info below), have
showroom personnel get the delivery or authorize Dock Services to deliver to
the showroom (info below). If tenant authorizes Dock Services to deliver, DMC
is responsible for accuracy and completeness of delivery, unloads the trucks,
and delivers to the showroom. DMC signs any bill of ladings confirming receipt
and accounts for all time and labor spent delivering the respective items for a
tenant.

Red Caps are
independent contractors that are not employed by DMC, but provide services as
independent contractors for tenants and buyers. Their rates are negotiated
directly with the individual.Red Caps
are located at WTC Dock 1
UPS, Federal Express, etc. deliver directly to showrooms and will not deliver to post office units/boxes. Sample merchandise for outbound shipments must be kept in showrooms until the carrier arrives at the dock for pick-up. The carrier will call from the dock when ready to load samples. Below are examples of how shipping labels should read for each respective building.

All trash and debris must be removed from buildings prior to markets. Items left on docks or elevator landings will be removed. Items in the hallways should have a sign attached to them marked “Do Not Remove.” Trash placed in the hallway must be contained within a plastic liner or box provided by the Exhibitor.
