Phaino Lighting was founded on a belief that lighting should be both a technical achievement and a work of art. Long before mass production reshaped the industry, light fixtures were sculpted by hand — cast in glass, iron, or aluminum, and designed with intention, detail, and visual movement. Over time, technological advancements shifted lighting toward machined, spun, and extruded components, setting the foundation for the iconic mid-century modern aesthetic but leaving behind much of the nuance and craftsmanship that once defined the field. At Phaino Lighting, we look backward to move forward. We revive the sculptural artistry and tactile detail of early light-making while pairing it with today’s most advanced LED technology.
