In 1994, John Lizewski started The Petting Zoo with just three bears and a big dream. Soon after, his brother JoRoy—our Master of Toys—joined him, and together, they built a thriving, multi-generational family business. Today, the Lizewski family ensures each toy is brought to life with care and creativity, from sketch to stitch. For over 30 years, The Petting Zoo has been serving the world’s most trusted zoos, parks, aquariums, and retailers. Our passion for animals is a driving force behind our recycled plush toy collection, blending imagination with nature, while caring for the world we share. We recognize that our plush animal companions have the power to encourage an appreciation for the world around us, foster a sense of curiosity, and bring families together. By tapping into the magic of nature, we help teach important lessons, blending wonder with purpose to help children grow and learn.
